This Volunteer Agreement outlines what Heritage Ministry commits to provide and what we expect from our volunteers. It is not a legal contract, but a mutual understanding to support a positive and safe volunteering experience.
1. Our Commitment to Volunteers
- Treat volunteers with dignity, respect, and fairness
- Provide clear information about roles and responsibilities
- Offer adequate training and support
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Reimburse pre-approved, reasonable expenses
- Listen to feedback and address concerns promptly
- Protect volunteer data in line with our Data Protection Statement
2. What We Expect from Volunteers
- Act professionally and respectfully
- Follow safeguarding and confidentiality policies
- Arrive on time and notify us of absences
- Work cooperatively with staff, trustees, and other volunteers
- Uphold the values of Heritage Ministry
- Not misuse charity property or funds
3. Induction & Training
- Introduction to the charity’s mission and values
- Safety and safeguarding guidance
- Any role-specific instructions
4. Health & Safety
- Follow health and safety instructions
- Follow risk management procedures
- Report accidents or concerns
5. Support & Supervision
- Assigned a coordinator who provides ongoing support
- Answers questions and assists with guidance
- Helps address any issues that arise
6. Expenses
Pre-approved expenses (e.g., travel) may be reimbursed upon receipt submission.
7. Ending the Agreement
Volunteers may stop volunteering at any time. We may also end the volunteer arrangement in cases of:
- Misconduct
- Breach of policy
- Safeguarding concerns
- Consistent non-attendance
